Total miles during day two: 704
After arriving in Nashville late the night before we were so glad to have a leisurely morning. The girls enjoyed the pool, inflatable jumping pillow, and chess. After we packed up, we headed over to the General Jackson Riverboat Cruise. Jay could not have picked a more entertaining way to enjoy Father's Day. We enjoyed a brunch buffet and then were in for a treat with the gospel music show. We cruised up the Cumberland River and after the show were able to walk around the outside of the boat where we could enjoy seeing downtown Nashville, passing under bridges, and checking out the paddle wheel. It was just an amazingly fun time. After we disembarked, we made our way over to Cooter's store where we had to good fortune to see the General Lee from the Dukes of Hazzard. The girls enjoyed perusing the Nashville souviener store adjacent to it and we loaded up on snow globes, postcards, and a Nashville Christmas ornament. The rest of the day was spent driving. We passed through Kentucky, crossed the Ohio River, Illinois, saw the Gatway Arch in St. Louis, MO, passed over the Mississippi River, crossed the Missouri River, drove through Kansas City where Georgia woke up and declared that it looked like New York City! We finally crossed into Iowa a little after 3 a.m. and parked at a truck stop to sleep. It was a terrific, but LONG day!
Katie Jo is quite the navigator and honed her map skills while riding shotgun with Jay. Georgia and I had no problem holding down the backseat :)
Nothing like having the pool all to yourself :)
I mean can you think of anything cooler than having one of these to enjoy?
Must be nice! Give us a couple of years and this will be our mode of travel!
Happy Father's Day to Jay!
The girls had the performers autograph their post card and pose for a quick picture.
What? After this photo I slid across the hood and dove into the passenger window. Jay llikes to remind me that I wasn't allowed to watch Dukes Of Hazzard, but as a family we watched Dallas.

Almost to Iowa!

Love an adult that will stand in the passenger seat and stick her head out the sunroof! We may be related!
