Day 3 Travel from New Jersey to Massachusetts

1,068 total miles traveled

Friday consisted of mostly travel. We started out by 8:30 and left New Jersey heading for Massachusetts. Due to the high volume of traffic, because of the Fourth of July weekend, it took us a lot longer than expected. Some of our highlights were traveling on the New Jersey Turnpike, seeing the New York City skyline, driving through neighborhoods in Connecticut, and finally arriving in Massachusetts. Our original plan was to drive out to Cape Cod to visit friends for the night, but because of the insane traffic we scraped that idea and went to our campground instead.
This was one of our more challenging days of travel, not just because of the traffic, but because of the unpleasant surprise of constant tolls!

First sighting of the NYC skyline.

Missed the NY sign but this one will work.

George Washington bridge. A $50 toll when pulling a camper!

NYC skyline again.

We are crazy!!

Connecticut sign :)
Home in Connecticut.

So far from home!  We were unable to take a picture of the Massachusetts sign because when we crossed over we were in a neighborhood and no sign was available.
