On Sunday morning, we awoke
refreshed in our hotel beds and decided before heading out we would ride over
to the U.S.S Constitution and take a look at the harbor before driving back to
our campground. Sometimes the simplest
of ideas turn out to be a memorable experience.
It turns out that our idea to just do a quick drive by resulted in a
tour of the ship. After our tour, and a
quick shopping trip to their gift shop (I mean who doesn’t need a wooden secret
message encoder?) we headed back to the campground where we frantically packed
everything up to get out by our 12 o’clock check out. The Byars’ trips are never without constant
activity!
Once we were on our way we
exited Massachusetts into New Hampshire and finally into Maine! After stopping
at the Visitor’s Center we made our way to Freeport where we shopped at the LL
Bean flagship store and ate dinner. I
had my first lobster roll, so we were officially Mainers!
We rolled into our campground
at a very late hour, but not so late that we didn’t take time to lay out and
enjoy the stars, and oh my goodness was it ever amazing!!

Bye bye Boston!!

This bridge passed over the state line between N.H and Maine.

I just though this was a pretty cool Banana Republic store in Freeport.
